Focus on International Youth Day and Governor Darius Ishaku thrust on Youth engagement.
By Joachim Dangana Bandawa.
Today, August twelve, twenty twenty is International Youth day.
International Youth Day is an initiative that celebrates the qualities of Young People and recognises what they are facing today.
The day which began in 2000 was organized to celebrate the contribution that young people make in education, employment, conflict resolution and social Justice.
Moreover, the vast majority of challenges humanity currently faces, such as the COVID-19 outbreak and climate change require concerted global action and the meaningful engagement and participation of young people to be addressed effectively.
Suffix, it to say youth are the bedrock of every society because they constitute the highest percent but lack of unity is hampering their progress which is not unconnected with glaring pride, ego, ignorance and selfishness.
For Instance, the National Youth Council which is a body established to aggregate the interest of Youths in the Country has now drifted to full time political body because leaders have failed to work in line with the dream of the founding fathers. If youths in Taraba State must benefit more from the bounties of democracy under the proactive leadership of Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku, they must be united and shun acts that would undermined their integrity.
As Youths Celebrate International Youth day, there is every need for them to salute the courage and dogged spirit of Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku who always carry them along in all his programs.
At the Moment, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has employed many youths into the State Civil service and has gone to empower many youths in various skills acquisition program who now have a new lease of life.
In the political space, young people have been recognized as Commissioners mostly the Commissioner of Youths and Sports Ibrahim Imam and many Senior Special Assistants and Special Advisers. It now behooves on them to use the opportunity to galvanize in order to garnered support for the rescue team under the leadership of Governor Darius Ishaku to succeed.
There is therefore the need for Taraba Youths to reciprocate the magnanimity of the Governor by contributing their quota to the development of the State and shun acts that are detrimental to progress and prosperity of the land.
It is a truism that Unemployment, kidnapping, Armed robbery, Prostitution, illicit drug taken and others have become the order of the day with youths said to be the major harbingers, these unwholesome acts has cut Short many lives which is a call to those involve to stop for the sake of their future and family.
Government at all levels on the other hand must create the enabling ground for all youths to survive by engaging more youths into the scope of things and soft loans to venture into entrepreneurship and farming.
As Youths celebrate International Youth day there is every need for them to always form a formidable front on how best to engage Government and Institutions than using the kill and divide and pull me down syndrome.
We wish Taraba Youths,Happy International Youth Day Celebration.
